Die Plattform

Alles, was du für smarteres Fliegen brauchst

Unser Rechner zeigt dir beide Zahlen sofort an.

Die Tools nutzen

Avios-Rechner — So nutzt du ihn

1

Status-Run-Generator — So nutzt du ihn

1

About The Project

Markus

Markus, Founder

Avios Intelligence was born out of a practical challenge in March 2026. When my partner struggled to calculate Avios yields for a British Airways business class flight while being a Finnair Plus member, I realised that existing online tools lacked the precision and "arbitrage" perspective that elite flyers demand. As a member of the Qatar Airways Privilege Club, I felt a drive to build a tool that simplified complex loyalty mathematics for everyone.

My passion for aviation is in my DNA. I am a child of the 80s and 90s, born into a family with deep industry roots. My late grandfather was a pioneer for Lufthansa, establishing their South American technical stations in the mid-20th century. While Lufthansa always felt like a monolithic "cult" in my childhood, it cemented my destiny as a travel enthusiast and aviation geek.

In the last two and a half years alone, I have logged over 260,000 miles—a distance slightly greater than a one-way trip to the moon. This frequent travel is driven by a search for the best global deals and superior cabin products. While I pride myself on being an objective critic, you will notice my preference for the world-class service standards of Japan Airlines and Qatar Airways.

Today, I am a dedicated Oneworld loyalist, having moved away from the Lufthansa group in pursuit of higher premium standards. Avios Intelligence is a passion project built on the philosophy that "sharing is caring." Whether you are a status chaser or a casual traveller, I hope these tools bring clarity to your next journey.

3. The Yield Engine, Tier Planner & Your Privacy

Our core tools, the Yield Engine and the Tier Planner, are designed with a "privacy-first" architecture. We utilize advanced client-side Vanilla JS and the Haversine formula to perform complex distance-based earning calculations ("Partner Hacks") directly within your browser. This means that the majority of your route planning data requires zero server load and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. When we do intercept live flight APIs to calculate real-time pricing, we transmit only anonymous routing parameters (e.g., LHR-JFK), never your personally identifiable information (PII).

4. Affiliate Monetization & Third-Party Cookies

Avios Intelligence is provided to users free of charge. To maintain our platform and continue developing arbitrage algorithms, we monetize our traffic through affiliate partnerships. When you click on outgoing links, specific tracking technologies are utilized:

  • Flight API Partners: When booking through our integrated partners (such as Travelpayouts, Kiwi, or direct airline B2B links), a temporary tracking cookie is placed on your device to attribute the sale to Avios Intelligence.
  • Accommodation Cross-Sells: Delayed floating hotel banners operate similarly, using third-party cookies to track high-intent referrals.
  • Financial & Lifestyle Products: Links to premium credit card applications and lounge pass providers may also utilize referral tracking identifiers.

These partners act as independent data controllers once you land on their websites. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policies of our partners before completing any bookings or applications.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We absolutely do not sell, rent, or trade your personal account or email data to third parties. We only share information under the following strictly defined circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use secure, EU-based hosting providers and email delivery services (for our newsletter) who process data strictly on our behalf under strict Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
  • Legal Obligation: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority in Cyprus or the EU.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale of the Avios Intelligence Project.

6. Security Measures

We employ robust, industry-standard security measures to protect your data. This includes end-to-end SSL/TLS encryption, secure password hashing (Argon2/Bcrypt) for comment accounts, and strict firewall configurations to protect against unauthorized access or automated scraping of our hardcoded routing databases.

7. Your GDPR Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you possess comprehensive rights over your personal data:

  • The Right to Access: You can request a full export of all data associated with your account.
  • The Right to Rectification: You can update your account details at any time via your profile settings.
  • The Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can request the permanent deletion of your account, comments, and newsletter subscription.
  • The Right to Restrict Processing: You may ask us to suspend the processing of your data under certain circumstances.
  • The Right to Data Portability: You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON/CSV).
  • The Right to Object: You can object to our processing of your data based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact dpo@aviosintelligence.com. We aim to fulfill all verified requests within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our Yield Engine architecture, new affiliate partnerships, or evolving legal requirements. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our website prior to the change becoming effective.

BA Avios Peak & Off-Peak Dates 2025/2026 — Save Up to 50% on Award Flights

By Avios Intelligence
2026-03-31
STRATEGY GUIDE

Avios Peak & Off-Peak
2025 / 2026 Date Guide

BA Peak pricing can cost up to 50% more Avios than Off-Peak. Know the difference, choose wisely, and save thousands of points on every award booking.

50%
Short-Haul Saving

LHR-JFK Off-Peak Club
~60%
Year is Off-Peak

What is Avios Peak and Off-Peak Pricing?

British Airways divides its Avios award chart into two pricing tiers: Peak and Off-Peak. On short-haul routes (under approximately 2,000 miles), Off-Peak award seats cost roughly 50% fewer Avios than Peak seats in the same cabin. On long-haul routes, a meaningful discount also applies during Off-Peak windows.

Understanding when Peak and Off-Peak periods occur is one of the highest-impact optimisations for any Avios collector. A London to Madrid return in Economy costs 13,000 Avios Off-Peak versus 19,500 Avios Peak. On a long-haul Business Class redemption, the savings can easily exceed 30,000 Avios per person.

Peak vs Off-Peak Avios — Key Route Examples

Route Cabin Off-Peak Peak
LHR – MAD Economy OW 6,500 9,750
LHR – MAD Economy RT 13,000 19,500
LHR – JFK Club World OW 68,000 ~102,000
LHR – DUB Economy RT 9,000 13,500
LHR – BCN Economy OW 6,500 9,750

When Are BA Avios Peak Periods?

BA designates Peak periods based on high-demand travel windows, primarily aligned with UK school holidays and major calendar events. Approximately 40% of the year is Peak. The broad Peak windows for 2025 and 2026 are:

📆 Peak — February Half-Term

Typically the week spanning UK school half-term in mid-to-late February. Short but high demand for European ski destinations and long-haul leisure routes.

📆 Peak — Easter

Good Friday through approximately two weeks after Easter Sunday. One of the busiest travel periods across all route types. Easter 2025 falls in late April; Easter 2026 falls in early April.

📆 Peak — May Bank Holidays

UK May Bank Holidays (Early May and Spring Bank Holiday). Short peak windows particularly impacting European short-haul routes.

📆 Peak — Summer (July – August)

The longest Peak period: roughly 1 July through 31 August. All UK school summer holidays fall within this window. The single highest-demand period for both short-haul and long-haul Avios redemptions.

📆 Peak — October Half-Term

Approximately one week in late October aligned with UK autumn half-term. Popular for short-haul city breaks and family long-haul travel.

📆 Peak — Christmas & New Year

Approximately 20 December through 2-3 January. The highest-demand period for long-haul routes and the most competitive window for award availability. Book well in advance.

✓ Off-Peak = Everything Else

Any travel date not in a designated Peak window is Off-Peak. The Off-Peak calendar is most available in January-February (excluding half-term), March (excluding Easter), June, September, early-to-mid October, and November. Booking Off-Peak is the single most powerful way to stretch your Avios balance.

How to Verify Peak Dates

British Airways publishes official Peak and Off-Peak dates on BA.com each year, typically 12 months ahead. Exact dates shift slightly year to year around moveable holidays like Easter. Always verify dates on the BA Executive Club website before booking. The Avios Calculator above includes a Peak/Off-Peak toggle — switching modes instantly recalculates your Avios requirement to show the saving from adjusting travel dates by even a few days.

Calculate Peak vs Off-Peak Avios

Use the Peak/Off-Peak toggle in the calculator to instantly see how many Avios you save by shifting your travel window.

Avios Peak & Off-Peak — Frequently Asked Questions

How much cheaper are Avios Off-Peak?

On short-haul routes, Off-Peak seats cost approximately 50% fewer Avios. London to Madrid Economy costs 6,500 Avios Off-Peak versus 9,750 Peak one-way. Club World LHR-JFK costs 68,000 Avios Off-Peak versus approximately 102,000 Peak.

When are BA Avios Off-Peak dates in 2025?

Typical Off-Peak windows in 2025 include early January to mid-February, March before Easter, June, September, most of October before half-term, and November. Summer July-August, Easter, Christmas, and UK school half-terms are Peak. Always verify exact dates on BA.com.

Does peak pricing apply to partner award flights?

Peak and Off-Peak pricing primarily applies to British Airways-operated flights. Partner award redemptions on Qatar, JAL, Cathay and others may use different pricing structures without the same peak/off-peak distinction. Always check the specific route when booking partner awards.

Can I mix Peak and Off-Peak on a return?

Yes. Each flight leg is priced independently. Your outbound may be Off-Peak while the return falls in a Peak window or vice versa. The calculator prices each leg separately, making it easy to see the blended cost for any return trip.

Is it worth waiting for Off-Peak to book?

For flexible travellers, yes — especially on short-haul routes where the 50% saving is substantial. Off-Peak windows align with school-term periods, which may not suit families. For long-haul Business or First Class, award inventory availability often matters more than the pricing period, as premium seats book early regardless.
